Week 2 – The Watchman at the Gate

What a powerful analogy that the conscious mind in the watchman at the gate of our subconscious mind. And that the conscious mind becomes the responsible ruler and guardian of the subconscious mind. This week has been a big week. It is as if the lights in a stadium are going on one at a time, as more lights go on the picture becomes clearer as to where we are going. The simple exercises of the cards and the statement “I always keep my promises” are laying foundations for the NEW ME. I realised this week that over my life I had promised myself a number of things and that as life has unfolded these promises have not been kept, obviously breaking down my belief in myself. This week the penny dropped that I need to forgive myself and start rebuilding this trust. This I have started doing by repeating “do it now” 25 time twice a day as I promised I would do. This can be perceived as a silly exercise but is it? And then the Chore, I could not get it done due to travel commitments and did it on Friday morning. Later in the day I was busy traveling somewhere when I saw a blue rectangle and was overcome with a sense of pride and emotion. There exercises work.

Reworking my DMP has started to bring the emotion associated with the realisation to the fore. I am starting to see the mental picture in my mind as I repeat it with gusto and emotion. This is the responsible ruler stepping into his rightful place. These are the new realities my subconscious is starting to see.

I close this with reference to Og Mandino, I will become slave to good habits. This is only week 2 of 26 MKMMA and scroll 1 of 9 of GS. This sure is the beginning of an exciting journey. I look forward with anticipation to the beautiful butterfly that is going to come forth.

  1. Wow Lance! Your post really resonated with me. I too suffer from not keeping promises to myself then beating myself up and feeling bad about it. It seems like I can keep promises and commitments to anyone but myself. I can really see how these exercises will help me break that bad habit! I’m looking forward to taking this journey along with you!!!
